January 10 – February 14
With the blooms of spring months away, The Loft at Liz’s presents a burst of ‘Vibrant Color (at a gray time of year)’. The sky is overcast, the air is brittle and the landscape is stark—but any seasonal ennui is dispelled by the intense saturation of color filling the gallery.
Color is associated with emotion, mood and healing: strong red connotes power, sensuality, strife; cheerful yellow suggests sunshine and levity; mercurial blue implies both melancholy and calm; joyful pink stirs up our lively and youthful spirits.
Whether employing wisps of hue or through textured surfaces that create a kaleidoscope of painted terrain, painters Jad Najjar, Joshua Elias, Elana Kundell, Lisa Mansy, Axelle Bloch and Treg Miller celebrate color in all its vibrancy.
“… color is literally vibration that we perceive visually. Many say that at the root of things, we are vibration as well.” – Elana Kundell
