Diverted Destruction is a Found Object Assemblage exhibition that began in 2008. Its mission is simple yet powerful:
to challenge artists to create with materials that would otherwise end up in the landfill.
With our planet increasingly burdened by waste, finding creative ways to keep discarded materials above ground—rather than buried beneath it—has never been more crucial. By transforming trash into art, these materials gain new value, shifting from refuse to revered.
Diverted Destruction offers a multifaceted experience, featuring a dynamic group exhibition, a free material giveaway of found objects, engaging artist talks, and hands-on workshops.
