Diverted Destruction is a Found Object Assemblage show entering into its 17th year (and 18th exhibition). Its mission is to have artists work with materials that would ordinarily go to the landfill.
As we all know the planet is suffocating from our refuse. One way to keep all this material on the land, in lieu of in it, is to create art with it. In doing so the materials become an object of value in lieu of garbage.
Diverted Destruction encompasses a variety of elements, a group show of artists works, a free materials giveaway installation of found objects, artist talks and workshops. This environmental activist show engages the community inspiring its viewers to think differently and to value what they normally walk to the trash with.
