Ousman was born in 1970 in Monrovia, Liberia. After moving from the Ivory Coast to Senegal to Las Palmas, in 1985 Ousman moved with his family to Boston in the United States. He came to Los Angeles in 1991; a natural move as he was always attracted to cars and all that related to them.
The artist’s passion for forming and reconstructing metal lead him to work in a car shop, and after a few years his specialty became restoring parts and pieces of classic cars.
He began saving unusable parts and his passion for welding metal pushed him one day to instinctively put them together. Each piece is unique. Joining the new realism movement, his work is poetic reinvention of our urban industrial reality.
