My interest in Op Art, hard edge abstraction, color theory, and optical theory has led me to this latest body of work – a series of abstract paintings the primary concern of which is color and line. Featuring simple geometric and striped compositions that employ a range of color strategies, including complementary, interference, and tridactic color, I am seeking to create images that appear to shift and evolve in concert with the viewer’s movement. With translucent and metallic pigments, as well as a smooth gradient color transition, these static works on an intimate scale engage the viewer with a sense of motion and luminance, and an ever changing and evolving surface.
